Alberto Escoto Gutierrez  4/7/1946 – 2/9/2019
Alberto (Beto) Escoto Gutierrez passed away on February 9th, 2019 in El Paso, Texas. His sudden and unexpected passing was a result of a fatal vehicle accident along Montana Ave. He was born on April 7th, 1946 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where he lived until his 20’s. Alberto was a wonderfully skilled  jeweler and worked as a security guard in his final days. A talented drummer, he played with many bands throughout his lifetime to include A Group Called El Paso, The Five Fingers, The Dug Dug’s, The Monstruos and Diane and Ernesto’s Show Band. A man of very strong faith and love for God, he was a lifelong student of many faiths and loved to share his learning with others. He loved to smile and always left an impression with those that crossed his path. Devoted brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by his son, Alberto, daughters Margi and Mindy, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and five surviving siblings. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Gina Escoto. His memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Perches Funeral Home, 4946 Hondo Pass Dr. in El Paso, TX 79904. His ashes will then be taken abroad and laid to rest with his family’s remains in Mexico.
Thank you so much for your time and patience with us during all of this process.  I feel that my sister Margi would like everything to pass as quietly and quickly as possible, as if nothing has happened.  I think this is her way of protecting herself.  But I would like to honor my father’s memory as best as I can. We never get another chance in life.
Regards,
Mindy Caldera
